Game Overview:
The Turning: Combat Challenge, is a 3rd person action combat game that takes place in a gladiatorial arena. Playing as Tal, the player will re-enact the final battle in Tim Fox’s Novel Scavenger Hunt. The player and enemy each start with a set of items that include a weapon, armor and a shield. Each item is unique and comes with a corresponding special ability. You will participate in a one-on-one duel to the death in order to secure your team’s position in the Tyrning. This game was made by four Drury University students using the Unreal Engine.Features:
- Interaction system that allows the player to mix and match with equipping different unique items
- Five equippable items each with unique attributes and special abilities
- Combo attack system for the player
- Intelligent enemy that can chase, attack, block and use special abilities.
- Advanced Niagara and Cascade particle systems for VFX
- Cool atmosphere with post processing, lighting, and animated crowd.
- Informative and sleek HUD
- Crisp UI that matches the atmosphere and aesthetic of the game
- Settings for adjusting key bindings and audio
- Custom artwork and models such as the arena and characters
- Used assets and writing material that was given to us directly by author Tim Fox
- Original music composition
- System that changes the music based on the state of the game
