About the Game

My Dear Emma is a calm narrative first-person adventure about grief, memory, family secrets, and the quiet moments that shape who we become.

You play as Emma, a 34-year-old biologist and nature photographer who is away on an international work trip when her grandfather passes away. After missing his funeral, Emma receives a package prepared by him: an old notebook, a map of her grandparents’ estate, and a compass with a small note saying only: “For Em.”
What begins as a return to a familiar place slowly becomes a deeply personal scavenger hunt through Emma’s childhood memories, her family’s past, and the life her grandfather hoped she would one day question.

Explore the peaceful countryside estate through Emma’s eyes. Follow clues, solve intimate environmental puzzles, uncover forgotten stories, and piece together a family history that was never fully told. Along the way, Emma must confront her grief, her inherited path in life, and the question of what she truly wants for her own future.
