About this game

OVERVIEW

Explore the vast outskirts of a strange and fantastical domain in Behind the Kingdom! As you navigate and discover hidden, winding paths in its huge interconnected map, you will gain abilities both magical and mechanical, giving you enormous freedom in how you choose to traverse the realm and engage in combat. In order to solve the Kingdom's mysteries, you'll need the help of its many outlaws & outcasts who may, in their exile, carry the soul of the realm after all.

GAMEPLAY

This is a 2D side-scrolling action game, featuring a large map with over 12 unique biomes and multiple possible critical paths to the end. Exploring the whole map will require seeking out the many types of movement upgrades, enhancements to your moveset that will completely transform your gameplay over the course of the adventure. Combat requires some patience and planning to learn each enemy's weakness, but once familiar, you can enjoy plenty of good old hack-and-slash as well, even while the encounters increase in complexity.

Trapped in a cursed and abandoned prison far from home, he set out to find his answers, which first meant exploring this deadly, strange land, which was much more inhabited than he'd been led to believe...
