This is the idea that brought many honorable volunteers to take part in this suicidal offensive into enemy territory, the first since those beasts suddenly appeared one hundred years ago and forced us to band together under one banner in order to survive.
But that's not your story; you are a convict, a murderer, and guilt is the only feeling that has brought you here. The past week is only a distorted blur in your mind, but you remember the screams and the blood well enough to know that the offer they made to you is probably too generous for a monster such as yourself.
