How far would you be willing to go in service to your people? Would you be willing to kill? You would get no gratitude. No riches. The very people you're trying to help would hate you, fear you, and brand you as but a coin-chasing cutthroat. With the City Watch after you, you would get no peace. Amidst a Biblical calamity, do you have what it takes to answer God's calling and do what no one else would?
