Never Akimbo is a top-down pixel art action game fueled by the chaos and replayability of modern arena shooters — and overseen by something far worse than bad odds.

You have been captured by the Gamemaster: a grinning, jester-like tyrant who sees you not as a hero, but as a toy. For his amusement, he has built a tower — a vertical playground of violence — and demands you climb it floor by floor. Each level is a new joke. Each enemy, a punchline. Your suffering? The entertainment.

There is only one rule.

You get one gun.

And he wants to see how far you can take it.

Your weapon evolves as you ascend the tower. Every floor offers new upgrades, twisted experiments, and dangerous improvements that permanently reshape how your gun behaves.

Modular Weapon Customization

Build your weapon piece by piece, swapping components on the fly to adapt — or to impress your captor.

  • Barrel – bend bullet behavior: piercing rounds, wild spreads, explosions, or unstable experimental madness

  • Stock – adjust recoil, fire rate, mobility, and control

  • Scope – improve accuracy, extend range, alter targeting, or inject strange effects

  • Magazine – modify ammo capacity, reload logic, burst patterns, or trigger bonuses when reloading
