a surreal apocalyptic world awaits you outside the building where you wake up. without memory or knowledge of what happened, you emerge into a broken city full of mystery, ringing a massive purple monolith that rises far above the landscape, dead in the center of an empty world. the air hangs heavy with radiation, the rolling clouds above constantly raining ash onto a wasteland untouched for a long, long time.
the travelers is an experimental combination of a text-based adventure and anarchy mmo. the world is one massive space to be explored by all players at once, where history can be learned, items can be discovered, bases can be built, and combat can be engaged.
hidden within the wasteland is a grand puzzle that will take a collaborative community effort to solve. the world is very large and dangerous, and traveling takes time; with dozens of old transcripts from a forgotten civilization to read through, every hint matters toward learning your true purpose. together, you can uncover the secrets of the wasteland.
