In YOU vs ZOMBIES, you don't pick your hero from a boring drop-down menu or mess with tedious character-creator face sliders. You execute The Ritual. Describe LITERALLY ANYONE / THING, and our chaotic generation engine will spit out a highly unqualified, personalized, playable meat vessel in seconds.

The apocalypse is efficient, brutal, and has zero regard for your personal comfort. Here is the catch: your choices actually matter, and The Ritual takes your prompts very literally. Describe a hardened, highly-skilled battlemage with spiky purple hair, and you might actually survive the horde. Ask for a monkey in pajamas, and the universe will happily oblige before watching you get instantly shredded.

Get creative, because exactly what you type dictates whether you become a timeline-saving HERO or an absolute ZERO. Spawning as a slice of sentient cheese might sound hilarious for the Discord chat, but remember: zombies don't understand irony. They just understand chewing.

• HERO or ZERO: Experience a brutally tuned vertical slice of personalised spellcasting combat. Our playtest currently gives you an introductory run through of an 8 beat story, with more storylines coming in the main game.

• Sardonic Survival: Navigate the collapsing multiverse guided by a system that truly, deeply, does not care if you succeed. You do have ‘friends’ in Ash and Morgan but they don’t do hippy hand holding.

The Ritual demands suffering. Here is exactly how your time in the apocalypse is going to play out:

• You are abruptly yanked from your mundane life.

• You are shoved into a highly unqualified, AI-generated vessel.

• The undead horde arrives to welcome ahem, eat you.

• You die terribly.

• The timeline instantly rewinds, forcing you to do it all over again (loading screens, schmolding screens phfft).

• You suffer through the hordes, attempting to master your spells.

• You finally face a Boss. You will probably die again.

💫 The Ritual takes what you describe and the world we’ve built; its art, biomes, and magic, and turns it into gameplay that’s personal to you. When you start typing, here is what happens behind the scenes to build your unique experience.

During The Ritual, you describe your hero by typing their name, and how they look, plus curious nuggets about what they love, hate, are known for etc. The Ritual takes this information and (using various LLM technologies combined with our handcrafted story bible, gameplay structures, objectives and constraints) creates assets, in real time, to create your gaming experience; a hyper-personalized story starring YOU!

Within a few seconds, The Ritual simultaneously triggers:

• A personal story – each hero’s run unfolds differently, with reactive dialogue and shifting scenarios

• A stat profile – an archetype chosen to fit your hero, plus a unique buff to a core stat

• A voice – battle cries, taunts, and dialogue that match your vibe

• A spell kit – a magic school chosen to fit your hero, plus two unique spells

• A nemesis – a boss chosen specifically for your hero

• A look – 2D character art generated in our distinctive style

Everything reacts to the character YOU imagined

All character visuals are generated using a custom AI model (LoRA) trained exclusively on our own artwork. It understands how we draw faces, hairstyles, armour, and bodies plus the rules, proportions, and style choices behind our art, rather than copying individual images or creating its own.

This means when your character gets generated, it is NOT generic AI art; it is our artistic DNA interpreting your imagination. While The Ritual could find anyone at all in the past, we’ve also implemented layers of safeguards to ensure only true heroes can be recruited to the war effort. The result is a caricature of your hero, rendered in our visual language.

Here is how your story unfolds:

As you progress, the game knows who your hero is and what you’ve already done to decide what comes next. As a wizard in the future you gave up your body to fuel The Ritual, but your magical abilities transfer into the person you possess. Each hero starts with a school of magic, a unique stat buff, unique damage spell, and a unique utility spell. Your stats, magic, and strengths all feed into how the world reacts. You won’t be sent back to the same forest or shopping mall, and earlier choices aren’t forgotten. The game will:

• Track your run – locations visited, choices made, and carries consequences forward

• Avoid repetition – no recycled missions or copy-paste paths

• Shape your objectives– survive, rescue, escort, horde, and more, chosen because they fit your hero and your story
