About this game
Story
Officer Mike Walsh is on a break from his wife, Eileen. To keep himself busy, he's been handed a routine assignment: inspecting a series of abandoned barns outside Portland following a string of complaints. Quiet work. Boring work. Exactly what he needs.
But Walsh isn't in a good place. The isolation, the lack of sleep, and the stress of his failing marriage are wearing him down. He's been prescribed medication to manage his paranoia and hallucinations, and it's the only thing keeping him functional. The barns should be empty. Routine. And yet something is always off. Objects out of place. Things that don't belong. Details that shouldn't have changed. Strange sounds echo through the dark. An unsettling phone call. A figure lurking where no one should be. And twice, something far worse waiting inside.
Whether the barns are really changing, or Walsh is losing his grip, isn't clear.
Objective
Each day, you inspect the barns and their surroundings. At the end of it, you choose which medication to take:
White pill if everything was fine, and no anomalies or no strange casualties we're spotted.
Black pill if something was wrong. Either the environment has changed, or Walsh has experiences hallucinations.
Choose correctly and the day moves forward. Choose wrong and it starts over. Pay attention. Trust your judgment.
Or don't.
