Overview

About this game

The city runs on LANE-4 - a quad-core microcontroller embedded in everything from train switches to power grids. The infrastructure is failing. You've been hired to help keep it running.

Write microcode in a custom assembly language. One program runs across all four cores simultaneously - the same instructions, different data. When cores collide on shared memory, the chip resolves it: two writers take the minimum, three take the maximum, four take the sum.

Take contracts through email chains from fixers, corporate middlemen, and bureaucrats.

Every job looks routine. Whether it stays that way is another matter.

What you can expect in the full version:

  • 50+ puzzles across 5 acts

  • Write assembly for a quad-core SPMD processor - one program, four cores, shared memory

  • Unique collision mechanics resolve simultaneous writes through min, max, and sum operations

  • Optimise solutions for Cycles, Area, and Instruction Count

  • Histograms to compare your solution against others

  • A narrative told through email chains from various characters

  • Set in an alternate-history Australian Megacity in 1996 - where Soviet influence shapes the world
