About this game
WELCOME WAYRIDER
Byte drops you into your first lane from the ship. It starts slow. It does not stay that way.
Lean your body to steer through neon gravity tunnels, dodge incoming fire, build a loadout from corporate sponsor deals and push deeper each run. The cameras find you fast.
Every run is broadcast. Every death is content.
LEAN TO STEER
You do not use thumbsticks for movement. Your body does that.
Lean left and right to shift lanes. Lean forward and back to move vertically. Crouch to push the throttle. Stand tall to slow down and pick your targets. Speed effects use shader distortion rather than FOV changes so the acceleration reads hard without motion sickness.
Enemy placement, shot patterns and vehicle positions are all built around the assumption you are physically moving.
Not a fan of full body lean? Adjust to head tilt, height, controller gestures, thumbstick, or blend inputs until it clicks.
SURVIVE THE HYPERLANE
The lane does not get easier. Enemy counts grow, patterns overlap, and deep in a run the air is full of it. Normal shots, fast bursts, beams cutting off sections, rockets tracking you, AOE energy blasts, spinning blades. Every enemy has distinct movement and targeting behaviour. Bosses wait at the end of each stage.
You are reading gaps, moving constantly, burning through your arsenal to stay alive.
YOUR RUN
With more wayriders to come you start as the Cybernetic Soldier with dual wielded Bolt Blasters, independent aim per hand, a Hex Field Shield, Board Launched Rockets, Bullet Time and a Dash.
Your kill rate drives your board speed. Autonomous cargo haulers drift through your gravity field mid run becoming cover or obstacles depending on what is behind you. Survive the wave, face the boss, pick a route from available exits and push deeper.
Between runs return to your hub ship. Spend Sponsorship Credits on permanent upgrades, starting stats and new enhancement cards. Early runs feed into later ones.
YOUR CHOICES
At pitstops buy random upgrades with scrap, sell unwanted enhancements, recycle cards into new draws, or deal directly with sponsor reps.
Seven corporate factions and two independent traders shape what shows up in your upgrade pool.
Lethal Logistics for raw firepower and crits. Safeguard Solutions for armor and survivability. Augment Architects for cooldown synergies. Automaton Assembly for turrets and drones. Icon Inc for fame and the opportunities credits cannot buy. Jetstream Junction for speed and throttle tech. GetEm Gadgets for utility and handling.
At the pitstops the Sibling Salvagers recycle your cards into new draws, and the Bargain Bazaar sells singles at prices that always favour the guy selling.
Picking a lane exit is a build decision. Different routes mean different faction pools, different enemy conditions, different runs.
THE WORLD
Corporate news networks broadcast your run live. Neon advertisements scroll past tunnel walls. The factions backing you have their own agendas.
Byte is your AI companion. Protective, sarcastic, and carrying information about whoever rode this board before you that they are not sharing easily. Lore comes through sponsor feeds, fragments and things Byte says when the pressure gets high.
Multiple biomes with procedural layout variation. More in development.

FOLLOW THE DEVELOPMENT
Hey, I'm a solo developer from Dublin, Ireland. Hyperlane Highway started as a small experiment in head tilt locomotion. When I paired it with a modular roguelike stat system I realised how well the movement worked with build variety and it grew from there. It has been a long road learning every discipline at once but I have something I'm proud of and ready to share.
My approach: Movement that becomes second nature. Intensity that scales to keep the flow state alive. Every run feeling fresh while still letting players learn and master enemy behaviours. Comfort options throughout.
This is a one person passion project. It isn't perfect yet but it is built to grow with the community. Feedback goes directly to the person making it.
