Overview
About this game
REAPER'S ISLE is an open-world, stealth horror game created by a team of students at UW-Stout and Berklee College of Music.
You receive a concerning message from your daughter, a paleontologist stationed on a remote island. After making your way to the isle, you discover horrifying phantoms from the ancient world. Restore power across the map to gain access to the main laboratory where you’ll discover the fate of your missing daughter.
EVADE
Avoid phantom monsters while solving basic puzzles to restore power across the island at watchtowers. By hiding in bushes, or tall grass and moving carefully, you can avoid confrontation. Throw rocks to distract and maneuver skillfully around the phantoms. You must be cautious, as the phantoms will absorb your soul if they touch you, causing you to restart at your last checkpoint.
DISCOVER
Explore the open world environment in first-person perspective. Study plants and creatures to uncover their mysterious origins and behavioral traits to help you survive. Discover logs and signs of former destruction to uncover secrets about the prior island's inhabitants.
UNCOVER
Finally, after restoring power, venture into the lab in the island's depths where you’ll discover the fate of your missing daughter.
AI Content Discloser
Voice acting is created using Murf AI due to the inability to find real voice actors while working on the project. Trust me, we tried! We were originally told we'd be provided voice actors, but when that fell through, we put out memos to our whole college, contacted groups, strangers, etc., and because we wanted proper representation for African American characters, we didn't feel right voicing it ourselves. We chose Murf AI because they work with real paid voice actors, which we felt was the closest morally acceptable choice, as we could not pay anyone else to be a voice actor online because this was a college-made game, and that was not allowed. If anyone ever wants to volunteer to voice act for Reaper's Isle, please reach out to us on our website, as we will always be a human-prioritized game development group.
